‘Burn Away’ shows Park Rd at their high-energy best, pushing the guitars right to the front, alongside the propulsive drums from Te Kapua Pene. The walls of guitars combine with frontman Tom Chamberlain’s restrained vocals to create an instantly memorable track, evoking early Arctic Monkeys and contemporaries like Pacific Avenue and Wolf Alice.

With a sophomore album on the horizon and growing momentum across Aotearoa and Australia, Park Rd are quickly cementing themselves as one to watch. ‘Burn Away’ is their first release since relocating to Sydney and comes ahead of a headline show on Saturday May 2 in Sydney as part of the Great Southern Nights programme at the Warren View Hotel.

Following on from previous singles ‘English Boy’ and ‘Antidote’, ‘Burn Away’ highlights the band’s continued evolution, sharpening their indie-rock sound while expanding their emotional range.
