‘Promise Me You’ll Thrive’, arriving May 29th. Mixed and mastered by acclaimed producer Forrester Savell who has worked on projects with the likes of Karnivool, Tesseract, Slash and Corey Taylor to name a few, the 10-track album captures a defining chapter in the evolution of guitarist and composer Rohan ‘Ro’ Stevenson.
The rollout begins February 20th with singles ‘The Start Of Something Beautiful’ and ‘Snapshots From A Dream’, accompanied by a cinematic new video with Colin Jeffs (Make Them Suffer, Alpha Wolf, In Hearts Wake) including pyro, easily the most visually ambitious production in I Built The Sky’s catalogue to date.
Writing began with a month-long creative retreat in coastal Victoria and evolved from there, eventually finalised under intense studio deadlines in Brisbane’s Airlock Studios, ‘Promise Me You’ll Thrive’ is an album forged in pressure and precision. Some compositions were completed just days before drum tracking began, a calculated risk that ultimately
elevated the performances.
“It was a bold move locking in the studio before everything was finished,” says Stevenson.“But the pressure forced clarity. This album became a promise to myself and to anyone listening that no matter how hard life gets, we must keep the fire within us alive and thrive.”
Sonically, ‘Promise Me You’ll Thrive’ balances blistering precision with cinematic uplift. Massive riffs collide with soaring melodic motifs, technical passages resolve into anthemic crescendos, and Savell’s production ensures clarity without sacrificing impact. The result is an instrumental record that resonates beyond musicianship, accessible, emotionally direct, and powerful without a single lyric.
