Joining them for the night are beloved special guests and emo-rock icons Dashboard Confessional and Australian artist Rachel Fahim.
The Auckland date follows a massive run of Australian arena shows and festival appearances and caps off the tour presented in New Zealand by TEG Live.
For all shows, fans can sign up for first access to artist pre-sale tickets, which begins on Tuesday 15th September at 10.00am (local time). General public ticket sales will start on Thursday 17th September at 10:00am (local time).
The Summer of Light Tour directly supports The Fray’s acclaimed new studio album, A Light That Waits — the band’s first full-length body of work as a core trio (Joe King, Dave Welsh, and Ben Wysocki) in over a decade. The album ushers in a bold new creative chapter defined by deep emotional clarity and the timeless, melodic hooks that have captivated global audiences for more than twenty years.
Rising to prominence in the early 2000s, The Fray defined a generation’s airwaves. Over their illustrious career, they have earned four GRAMMY® Award nominations, three Billboard Music Awards, and a permanent place in pop-culture history. Their breakout masterpiece, “How to Save a Life,” is RIAA Diamond-certified, 6x platinum certified in NZ, spent a historic 58 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, and became a global cultural touchstone as the definitive anthem of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy — a song reportedly enjoying a fresh resurgence with a new generation via TikTok.
Joining them on the tour is alternative rock vanguard Dashboard Confessional. Led by the raw, tender songwriting of Chris Carrabba, the band continues an incredible artistic resurgence following their critically acclaimed ninth studio album, All The Truth That I Can Tell.
With the Australian 2025 tour selling out completely, tickets for these highly anticipated summer dates are expected to move rapidly. Fans are strongly encouraged to register for pre-sale access early to secure their tickets. Tickets and info at thefray.com/tour.
