The intimate venue was packed, with rows of seating spilling into the outdoor area as friends, family, and fans gathered to enjoy some of the region’s finest artists in an incredible showcase of local talent.

Opening the evening, Milly Tabak was her usual playful self, full of sass and smiles and she and Dave Khan started things off with a selection of both covers and original tracks.

Fables, fronted by Jess Bailey, took to the stage after a brief interlude for punters to refresh themselves with the mulled wine and sweet treats on offer. Storytelling woven intricately within cinematic folk landscapes, the full band performed a selection of songs both from the album, as well as those which narrowly missed the cut, with Jess hinting that she was keen to record album #2 and perhaps some of these tracks may appear.

Fables open for Dave Dobbyn at the Civic Theatre on Saturday 25th July.
