The pair will head to Ōtautahi Christchurch’s James Hay Theatre on Tuesday 23 March, followed by Pōneke Wellington’s Meow Nui on Wednesday 24th March, and wrapping up at Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland’s Powerstation on Thursday 25th March.
Released in 2002, In Our Gun arrived at a pivotal point for the British band. Fresh from winning the Mercury Music Prize, Gomez had established a global following with their distinctive blend of rock, blues, folk and electronic experimentation. The album continued that evolution, delivering some of the band’s most enduring songs alongside deeper cuts that have remained favourites with fans.
For these shows, Ottewell and Ball will revisit In Our Gun alongside songs from across the Gomez catalogue, including Whippin’ Piccadilly, Get Myself Arrested, Shot Shot, Detroit Swing 66, Ruff Stuff and Ping One Down.
With 25 years of Gomez’s music to draw from, the shows will bring together the songs that have defined the band’s catalogue with the live chemistry that has made Ottewell and Ball such a popular touring partnership in their own right.
